The Story Behind My Cartoon Gallery
My Cartoon Gallery is based in Western Canada and home to cartoonist Doug Edwards and his beautiful wife and business partner Diane. They reside with their cat Marble, a young pup named Dixie and several fish. The Gallery was created to offer personalized and unique gift ideas for everyone to share.
The original vision came to us through a family member's child - who by the way, is one of the models in our Gallery. Some days they're a monkey, climbing the walls and furniture, and some days they're as cuddly as a koala bear. It was from these references that Doug started to sketch out ideas ... and the Gallery was invented.
Although Doug and Diane keep the show running, make no mistake ... the cat is in charge!
The Story Behind Devlin Ink.
When Doug Edwards began his career some years ago he created a little cartoon dryad that would sometimes appear aside his signature. Upon recognition, and great curiosity, Doug was urged to fully develop Devlin into a comic character. Devlin is today best known for his antics in the online comic strip Devlin Ink.
As the story goes, it was only after Devlin graduated from a sketch to a finished character that Doug was awakened one night to find his creation had somehow come to life and was rummaging through his studio. Doug had no choice but to welcome him into the family, a move he constantly ponders, but offers the elements to which the strip is built upon.
It was from Devlin Ink.'s popularity that Doug started work on a series of Limited Edition Prints to showcase the dryad's more colorful side. A line of studio cards and t-shirts succeeded from that.
