First a character sketch is created and inked in. Testing is done to ensure a child's face will display properly.

Upon approval, the character is colored in, shaded and additional detailed are added. A scan is performed and the character is prepped for incorporating the model's digital headshot.

The model's face is sized to the character's scale and sometimes may need to be shifted or rotated. For instance, the lion character required the child's face to be turned to align better.
